Alea Gaming Ltd has been crowned Innovator of the Year at the 11th International Gaming Awards (IGAs) in London.
Alea were also nominated for the Online Casino Operator, Slots Operator and Socially Responsible Operator of the Year, sharing the bill with established names like LeoVegas, MrGreen, VideoSlots and William Hill.
The glamorous awards ceremony took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 5th February.
Alea’s co-founder, Alexander Tomic, said: “We are thrilled to have won Innovator of the Year at the IGAs, all thanks to the incredible work of the ALEA team.
“It has been an incredible 12 months for ALEA and our SlotsMillion and LadyLucks brands, and this award is recognition of that.
“This year we have even more innovations and ground-breaking products in the pipeline, which we look forward to sharing with the industry in the coming months.”
Since the company was founded in 2012, Alea has built a reputation for innovation in the online casino industry for its ground-breaking products like the world’s first 3D Virtual Reality (VR) Casino.
In 2017 a new arm of the business, Alea Play, was launched.
This a new game aggregation platform that gives online gambling operators access to more than 2,000 games from studios like NetEnt, Thunderkick, Quickspin and WMS.
Alea Play also makes more than 1,000 mobile slot games available and has recently developed a suite of VR mobile slots, including Pragmatic Play’s Sugar Rush.
The Malta and Barcelona-based business operate two of their own casinos – SlotsMillion.com and LadyLucks.co.uk which they purchased in 2017 with the aim of breaking further into the highly competitive UK market.
