ALL ABOUT TWISTED SISTER SLOT
For the latest in their Rock series of slots, a set that includes sweaty, screaming thrash and horror in the the form of games like House of Doom, Black Mamba and Annihilator, Play n Go draw inspiration from 80s poodle-haired Kiss-type band, Twister Sister. The game features all members of the band and plays out on a grid slot, something regular Play n Go-ers will be familiar with. It’s laced with some pretty decent features but we’d argue doesn’t quite measure up to the standards set in other rock-slots like NetEnt’s Guns n Roses and Ozzy Osbourne games. Fans of the band – and there are many out there -will of course love Twisted Sister as it captures the in yer face rock energy of the band in their pomp, as well as giving you the chance to win top payouts whilst rocking out to your favourite soundtracks. And what more could you want?
GAME SET-UP, SYMBOLS AND GRAPHICS
Play n Go have been rocking the grid slot format for many years so they know what they are doing with the this set up. The 6×6 sits, as you might expect, between two giant speaker stacks with a V-shaped guitar leaning up on the left which also plays a part in the game as a ‘charge meter’. It’s not a game of the highest quality graphics, but it is what we’ve come to know and love from this Swedish game studio – down and dirty, with smart gameplay.
As usual, we’re talking cluster mechanics, so after the first 36 symbols land you’ll be looking for clusters of 5 or more. Any cluster will break up and new symbols drop in to replace those that disappear from the grid. This creates nice win sequences as well as triggering additional features. The symbols are made up of various rock paraphernalia, including guitar picks and records, as well as the band members themselves. The lead singer tops the payout charts with a 250x if you can score 25 in one cluster! There is also a Wild that will sub in for any other symbol to form part of a cluster.
TWISTED SISTER SLOT RTP, VARIANCE AND PAYOUTS
Unlike other recent Play n Go releases, and somewhat at odds with no-holds barred attitude of its protagonists, this slot does not rage on at the top of the variance scale. Instead it is a medium volatility release – so you can expect to score some modest payouts along the road to any bigger wins. This toned down maths model might even make Twister Sister appeal to a broader audience than previous rock slots from Play n Go. The RTP is set to a reasonable 96.2% and spins start at 10p per play.
GAMEPLAY AND FEATURES
The game is strong on features with some cool enhancements that can drive up your wins. They work as follows:
Guitar Charge Meter and Band Features
Check out the Guitar Charge meter – you’ll need to fill this to set off the main game modifiers. The meter increases by 1 for every band member symbol that forms part of a win cluster. When there are at least 5 charges, then a band member feature is triggered. When that band member lands it unleashes its modifier:
- Scream – any low value symbol around the band member is destroyed.
- Go Wild – turns the band member into a wild.
- Unite – turns selected symbols into the band member.
Angry Dad Meter and We’re Not Gonna Take It Feature
Fans of the band will recognize the Angry Dad character from a song video. Here, he is also a Wild Scatter, and when he forms part of a win, his meter fills. This triggers the We’re Not Gonna Take It feature – the normal gameplay but with a 2×2 colossal band symbol thrown into the mix. The round keeps going until all the Angry Dad symbols are removed from the grid.
Twister Sister is a classic rock n roll gird slot from a studio who know how to make this work. The format has been done many times but here Play n Go have put their own quirky twist on proceedings with some nice band member modifiers and a hit song-themed bonus round. The lower-than average variance will give more players than usual the opportunity to get a kick out of this slot, and we reckon it could be knocking around for some time. So don’t let the haircuts put you off! Have fun, and gamble responsibly.
