Rise of Olympus Slot Review (Play n Go)
ALL ABOUT RISE OF OLYMPUS SLOT
Fans of Play n Go will be familiar with the 5×5, cascading wins format found in games like Moon Princess, Viking Rooncraft and Reactoonz. Winning symbols after each spin are replaced with new ones and after each consecutive win, your multiplier increases by 1x.
If you like this mechanic and you are fond of high variance games then you are going to love Rise of Olympus. There is nothing new here, apart from the graphics – underneath those Greek God exteriors, this is surely Moon Princess all over again, right?! Yes, exactly!
Well we are certainly looking forward to having a few spins on this game – it promises to produce some very big payouts and with a 96.5% RTP its definitely worth a punt.
Rise of Olympus Game Set Up
Like all similar Play n Go games, Rise of Olympus takes place on a 5×5 grid, in this case set against the epic backdrop of Mount Olympus with wins paid out for three to five identical symbols appearing in adjacent positions either horizontally or vertically.
When you get a winning line, the winning symbols are removed and new ones fall into their place. The middle symbol in a win row becomes a wild. Additionally, your multiplier, originally set to 1x, increases by 1x with each consecutive win.
The multiplier re-sets to 1x after a non-winning drop.
Rise of Olympus can be played from 20p to £100 per spins, has a very high variance and an RTP of 96.5%.
Rise of Olympus Game Symbols
The low value symbols in the game are bolts, tridents, helmets and harps. There are also three high value symbols, the Greek Gods themselves: Hades, Poseidon and Zeus, each of which pays out 10x for five in a payline.
Look out as well for the Wild which is by far the biggest premium symbol, paying out 50x for five in a payline.
Rise of Olympus Features
There are two base game features in Rise of Olympus. They are as follows:
Hand of God –The three Gods in this game are there to give you a helping hand on any non-winning spin from which they may create winning lines.
Hades will transform one chosen set of symbols into another. Poseidon will add wild symbols to the grid at random. And Zeus will destroy two sets of symbols to allow new ones to drop in to replace them.
Wrath of Olympus – Any winning combinations of God symbols will help fill the meter – 5 of a kind will add 3 sections to the meter and 4 of a kind will add 2 sections to the meter. 3 of a kind will add 1 section to the meter.
Once the meter is full then you get a free spin combined with all three Hand of God features – giving you wilds and transforming symbols.
Rise of Olympus Free Spins
To set off the free spins you must clear the grid of everything except wilds. Then you must choose from the three gods – Hades is 4 free spins, Poseidon is 5 free spins and Zeus is 6 free spins.
Whichever god you choose, their own superpower will be triggered on EVERY non-winning spin throughout the round.
Your multiplier will NEVER re-set during the free spins round and can increase to a maximum of 20x.
If you clear the grid of symbols once again you’ll instantly receive 100x your stake as a cash prize.
The meter is in effect again, and filling it can bring you more free spins, up to a maximum of 20. How many you get each time depends on which god you chose. Hades will give your 4 more for filling the meter. Poseidon will give you 3 more, and Zeus will give you 2 more.
THE SLOT BUZZ VERDICT
This is a top-class high variance slot from Play n Go. It’s built on exactly the same game engine as Moon Princess. This one is definitely more macho though, so it’s horse for courses! The top payout is somewhere around 5,000x and the real fun will of course game in the bonus round if you can rack up plenty of extra spins and try to build to that 20x multiplier.
