ALL ABOUT MILKY WAYS SLOT
Having wowed us with a string of top quality high variance slots including the awesome Barbarian Fury and Deadwood games Nolimity City are cranking down the volatility a little for a more relaxing set of games this summer that includes the cartoon-ish Bonus Bunnies and now this spacey escapade, Milky Ways. Here at The Slot Buzz we’ve been hugely impressed by Nolimit so far and it’s interesting to see how they tackle slots aimed at a different audience. Grahpically Milky Way is an impressive looking game, with a backdrop that evokes distant galaxies whilst the gameplay here is an interesting mix of wilds, multipliers and free spins on a 5×3 reel set that expands to 5×5 in the bonus round. Whilst it may not offer the same high, high payout potential of earlier slots, the jackpot is still over 5,000x here which gives players something enticing to play for. Let’s find out more.
GAME SET-UP, SYMBOLS AND GRAPHICS
First up, Milky Ways is a nice-looking slot. Nolimit are building their reputation on top quality products and visuals are a big part of that. Here you get a 5×3 floating reel set on a neon and black backdrop of stars, asteroids and moons. It looks really enticing. The low value symbols are the card icons, Jack through to Ace, whilst the high value symbols are represented by gemstones in red, green, blue and yellow. The highest value of all is the red at 2.5x for five on a payline.
There is also plenty of wild action in Milky Ways – Solar Wilds that sub for all other symbols and come with multipliers of up to 3x, as well as Milky Way scatters needed to unlock your free spins.
MILKY WAYS SLOT RTP, VARIANCE AND PAYOUTS
As we have already said, Milky Ways doesn’t have the same intimidating high variance of games like Barbarian Fury. However, it is still at the higher end of the medium range so it can be a tough little number to crack. You’ll need to be hitting the farer reaches of the bonus rounds to unlock anything even close to their 5,000x + top payout, helped by an expanded reel set. The RTP is a pretty decent 96.14% so no complaints there. You can start playing from just 20p per play.
GAMEPLAY AND FEATURES
This one is all about Wilds and Free Spins. Here’s how it works.
These are standard wild symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 – they sub for all others except scatters to form wins. They are also enhanced by multipliers of between 1x and 3x. If more than one wild is involved in a win then the multipliers are combined.
Milky Way Spins
Things get interesting in the free spins round, triggered by landing 3 or more Milky Way scatters on one spin. Here, the reel set expands by two rows to a 5×5 set up, increasing the paylines to 3,125. You’ll start with 3 free spins with TWO GUARNATEED Solar Wilds landing each time. Any more scatters will earn you one extra Milky Way spin each.
After any winning spin during the Milky Way Spins round, the winning symbols are held for another spin. This is called a Fusion Spin. These repeat until no more wins occur. Remember, Solar Wilds come with multipliers so if you do land 3x Multipliers on winning spins in the bonus round there is a chance of stacking up some nice payouts.
Milky Ways looks like a fun slot and it’s a good move for Nolimit to branch away from the very top end of the high variance market to reach out to a broader player base. Graphically its very cool. Our only gripe might be that it’s somewhat light on features. It’s really just about hitting the free spins round and hoping for a mix of Solar Wild multipliers and Fusion Spins. In summary, Nolimit are continuing to impress and give the competition a lot to think about. Have fun, and gamble responsibly.
