ALL ABOUT WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE SLOT

The self-proclaimed ‘most anticipated slot release of 2018’ will be live at most slot sites in autumn of this year and, like all BTG titles, it promises to draw a huge amount of attention when it finally arrives.

BTG’s growing profile has been helped in part this year by a busier release schedule – this summer we’ve seen Extra Chilli, Book of Gods and Donuts alone – as well as recent partnership deals that have seen the Megaways™ engine licensed to Blueprint, Storm Gaming and now Red Tiger.

As a result of these new licenses, we can expect to see many more slots coming in 2019 on the famous expanding reels set up. It makes you wonder if at some point we’ll see a backlash from irate slots fans who’ve played every Megaways™ game out there countless times and still never made it through to the bonus round!

Seriously though, it seems that there is no stopping BTG now and Megaways™ is very much here to stay. Which is great news for fans of super high variance slots of course. And for now, the novelty is a long way from wearing off – so let’s dive into the latest, and first branded MW release.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Game Set Up

WWTBAM Slot Payable

WWTBAM Meagwaysâ„¢ is a 6 reel slot with up to 7 symbols appearing on each reel per spin. Of course, the number of symbols changes each time, but with all reels expanded there are up to 117,649 ways to win.

There are also an additional 4 reels that sit beneath numbers 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the main reels and spin independently. Fans of Megawaysâ„¢ games will be familiar with this set up.

Of course, this is a VERY high variance slot game, and it can be played from 20p to £20 per spin. It comes with a 96.24% RTP and a top payout at the highest stake of £1 million.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Game Symbols

The low value game symbols are made up of the cards, 10 through to Ace. The premium symbols are the gemstones – green, blue, red and purple in color. The purple is the highest value symbol in the game and comes at 50x for six on a payline.

Look out for the all-important Millionaire Scatter symbols that is required to trigger the free spins round. You’ll need three or more to do so.

There is also a Wild that only appears on the separate 4-reel row that appears under the main reel set.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Slot Features

Cascading Reels

Just like its predecessors, Bonanza and Extra Chilli, WWTBAM slot has a cascading reels set-up. This means that for each winning spin, winning symbols are removed to be replaced by new ones. If another win line is created, the winning symbols are once again removed. This continues until no more winning lines appear.

This feature is also present in the bonus round where a multiplier is applied to each win, increasing by 1x with each consecutive winning spin.

Free Spins Round

WWTBAM Hot Seat

You need to land three or more Millionaire Scatters in order to trigger the free spins round. Three will get you 8 spins, and extras scatters will add more to your cache.

You can then GAMBLE your frees spins for more, or choose to go straight into the bonus round. This is known as the HOT SEAT gamble feature.

When you gamble, you are given a choice of the three lifelines from the gameshow – 50/50, Phone a Friend and Ask the Audience. A correct answer will move you up 1 place on the free spins ladder which continues as high as 50 free spins.

At positions 2 and 7 on the ladder you are given a safety net of 10 and 20 spins respectively. This means that from positions 2 to 7 even if you lose the gamble you will still collect 10 spins, and from position 7 upwards you are GUARANTEED a minimum of 20 spins.

MASSIVE VOLATILITY – You will notice if you make it to the free spins round that the variance here is higher than ever. That means more dry spins but massive wins when they come. The variance is higher even than Bonanza or Extra Chilli.

NOTE: There is no BUY-IN option to the bonus round.

THE SLOT BUZZ VERDICT

WWTBAM Megaways™ is out in November 2018 and promises to be another smash hit from Big Time Gaming. There will of course be lots of tears shed over this one – it’s going to be hard enough triggering free spins, but then to find a run of dry spins once you get there may be too much for some. That said, it promises to reward the very lucky few in untold ways. This is an excellent slot which has made clever use of the TV gameshow mechanic to spice up some already hyper-combustible gameplay. Game on!
