The daddy of all 4,096 ways-to-win slots, Raging Rhino from WMS set new standards for high volatility slots when it came out in 2014. It may just reward you with massive wins in the free spins round, but it requires patience and a bankroll.
Raging Rhino Slot Game Review
ABOUT RAGING RHINO SLOT
Since its release in 2014, the Safari-themed Raging Rhino slot from WMS has been copied by other software studios many times over.
And it’s not hard to see why.
This high-variance game format with 4,096 ways to win can drive you mad, but it is equally hard to drag yourself away from. After long spells of spins without any luck it can suddenly release massive wins if you hit the right combinations in the free spins bonus rounds.
The game set-up for Raging Rhino was unique when it arrived. There are six reels and four rows, and any two adjacent identical symbols can trigger a win (4x4x4x4x4x4=4,096).
The scale of the payouts is possible because you can get 50 free spins in the bonus round (twice over), depending on the number of scatters you land when you trigger it. Plus you can increase all your wins with multipliers of up to 3x.
The Raging Rhino RTP is 95.91%, and because of its high volatility the game can make you wait through long dry spells before releasing a glorious big win. This one is not for the feint-hearted. You’ll need to be ready with deep pockets if you’re going to break the back of it!
Of course, if you want to get a feel for the game first before parting with your cash you can always try for free right here. For real play, it’s available on mobile, desktop and tablet at all WMS casinos.

GAME SET-UP AND PAYTABLEÂ
The backdrop for Raging Rhino is an African Savannah landscape, and the soundtrack features African tribal drums and various wild animal noises! Overall the graphics are of a higher standard than many WMS games.
The lower paying symbols in the game are the cards from 9 through to Ace. The higher paying symbols are all animal animals, including Cheetahs, Apes and Crocodiles. The top paying symbol in the base game is the Raging Rhino himself, which has a 7.5x payout for a line of six.
You should also look out for the scatter, which is a Diamond, and the Wild, which is a tree. The Wild will substitute for any other symbol accept the scatter. It appears only on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Winning lines must start on the far left reel in Raging Rhino.
The stake set up is as follows: the base bet is 40p per spin, but you can use the Bet Multiplier function to increase the level of your bet per spin up to 150x 40p = ÂŁ60.
GAME FEATURESÂ
With Raging Rhino you don’t really see any decent action until you get into the free spins round – that is a given. You can pick up a few small wins in the base game, but what you’re really looking for is those scatters to pitch nicely for you and set up a big round of free spins with multipliers.
The free spins round is triggered by three of more scatter symbols and you receive free spins as follows:
3 Scatters = 8 Free Spins
4 Scatters = 15 Free Spins
5 Scatter = 20 Free Spins
6 Scatters = 50 Free Spins
Once you up and running you can pick up more free spins during the bonus round where 2 scatters gives you 5 free spins, 3 gives you 8 free spins, 4 gives you 15 free spins, 5 gives you 20 free spins and 6 gives you another 50 free spins.
So, you can see how things can get pretty exciting! And it gets even better when you land those wilds which turn into 2x or 3x multipliers as they pitch. Plus they accumulate, so 2 wilds with 3x multipliers landing at once will make a 6x multiplier.
Net result – when everything stats landing right, you really can trigger a massive windfall!
THE SLOT BUZZ VERDICT
Raging Rhino is an absolute classic and one of the most popular high volatility slots around. There are many copy-cat versions, but few deliver in quite the same way. That said, if you’re into this game you might also like to try Thunderkick’s 2017 release, Pink Elephants.
