Scandinavian slot studio Thunderkick unleashed the first part of their superb psychedelic slot Pink Elephants back in 2017. GAME SET-UP, SYMBOLS AND GRAPHICS
We’ve moved from the desert to the mountains between the release of Pink Elephants 1 and 2. The backdrop to our 6×4 reel set is a green meadow overlooked by rocky mountain peaks where great elephant heads have been carved into the rocks. The low value symbols are the cards 9 through to Ace. The meerkats who livened up the reels in version one of the game have been substituted with goats in blue, green, orange and purple. The top payout comes from the Pink Elephant with 10x for six on a payline.
Then of course there are the ‘W‘ wilds which sub for all other symbols bar the scatter which is a Peanut and is required to unleash the brilliant free spins round.

Pink Elephants 2 may be a little lower down the variance scale than the original but it is still a high risk game so keep this in mind when you load up and choose your stake. The RTP is set to a standard Thunderkick level at 96.13% and the minimum cost per spin is 10p. The top payout has been moved up from 8,200x to 10,000x so there is a higher jackpot to play for, but overall the maths and the format of the two games is very similar.

It is easy to forget that Pink Elephants is in fact a pretty simple slot. The base game is fun enough but all you are really doing is spinning away and waiting to land 3 or more peanuts to unleash the bonus round where all the fun happens. That peanut symbol can get you up to 19 free spins when six land at once. Your odds are improved by the special Mystery Scatter features where up to 5 extra peanuts are added to the reels at one time.
Symbol Upgrades
The feature that makes this slot tick at a higher volume than most is the Symbol Upgrades. Here, the Elephant Orb comes into play. There are four meters to the left of the reels, one for each goat symbol. When orbs land, so the meters get filled. And when one is completed, so the relevant goat gets upgraded to the next symbol in the paytable. Effectively you are increasing your chances of bigger wins each time a meter is filled. An extra free spin is granted when a meter is completed too.

OUR VERDICT
Those who liked the original Pink Elephants slot (and who didn’t?) won’t have any complaints about the follow-up. It does everything the first version did just with a slightly tweaked pay model. However, if you wanted something with more bells and whistles and a proper upgrade then you may be disappointed. For us at The Slot Buzz we couldn’t get enough of Pink Elephants the first time round so this is a real treat for summer 2020.
