About Eye of Horus Slot
Merkur’s original Eye of Horus slot is something of a cult classic amongst high variance slots fans thanks to its tough maths model and eye-catching design (excuse the pun). Since its release in 2016 a number of sequels have followed, including Jackpot King and Megaways™. This latest version from Blueprint is perhaps the most unusual of the lot, thanks to its 4 reel set design, though not the first game to use this feature this year. In terms of design, Power 4 Slots is not that different to the original – same brown / grey logo and backdrop – but perhaps this time it feels even more like it’s going to send you cross-eyed after just a few spins. Despite its complex look the gameplay is in fact pretty simple here – the main aim is to land scatters to set up the Free Games or Super Games where it can in fact deliver a super-sized 20,000x top payout.
RTP, Variance and Top Payout
One thing we can say for sure is that this is a highly volatile slot – that means uneven distribution of payouts with long dry spells punctuated by thrilling win sequences. The RTP here is set to a pretty average 96.35%, whilst the top payout is a very enticing 20,000x. Remember, wins like that will be extremely rare – this is just an indicator of how high they can be. Symbols and PaytableÂ
Nothing new in the paytable here – the symbols have the same retro feel. Low value icons are the simple playing cards, whilst the premium symbols are represented by lotuses, ankhs, scarabs, birds, and jackals. The Eye of Horus is the highest-paying premium symbol. All premiums pay from 5x up to 12.5x bet.

Gameplay and Features Â
There are a few features to be aware of here. In the base game there is the expanding Wild which covers an entire reel when it lands, then the the Free Games feature and the Super Games feature. Here is how they work:
Pick a Pyramid Feature
To trigger the Bonus feature, players need to land at least three Pyramid scatters anywhere on the reels. It is important that these scatters are landed on a single reel grid. Once that happens, the Pick a Pyramid feature is triggered. Three pyramids are on the offer, and, depending on your choice, you will trigger either the Free Games or the Super Games.
Free Games Feature
The Free Games feature is played on a single 5×3 reel grid, and players are awarded with 12 free spins. Land 1, 2, or 3 Wilds on the reels and you will trigger 1, 3, or 5 extra free spins. The other function of the Wild is to upgrade premium symbols. Each time it lands, another premium symbol will upgrade to the next above it in the paytable. After the 5thupgrade, only top value Eyes appear on the reels from the premium set. This creates the opportunity for many more bigger wins.
Landing more scatters during free games will also give you more free games – 5 for every 3 scatter that land.
Super Games Feature
If the Super Games feature is picked, you will first spin a massive wheel to determine how many free spins (up to 12) and how many reel grids (1-4) you will play with. The Wild will also perform symbol upgrades as it does in the Free Games feature.
And if three or more scatters land, players get 5 extra free spins and unlock one of the locked reel grids for more winning opportunities. It is possible to finish up playing with all four reel sets.
Our Verdict
The original Eye of Horus and its sequels proved to be very popular games and this is another worthy addition to the series. Despite its tired graphics Eye of Horus still packs some punch, though really you won’t notice it until you unlock a decent sequence in the Free Games or Super Games features. One thing to note – when playing on four reels your stake is split across them all, and so your prizes for each win are lower than you might expect.  In addition, the Bonus feature is a very tough nut to crack and it will take a while before you enter either the Free Games or the Super Games feature. Nevertheless, as we all know, Ancient Egypt is a popular theme, so Eye of Horus Power 4 Slots will find its audience, one way, or another.
