GAME SET-UP, SYMBOLS AND GRAPHICS
Bombuster is a grid slot with a very classic feel to it. The backdrop is one we’ve seen many times before, a kind of generic outer space look, mixing dark colors with neon lines in 3-d. The grid itself is a 7×7 set-up. The symbols are taken from classic fruit machines, including bells, stars, melons, lemons, watermelons, and the highest paying lucky 7. Payouts are triggered by landing clusters of symbols that are adjoined horizontally and vertically. You need at least 5 symbols to form a clusters and clusters can be as big as 40 in size. That means it’s possible to trigger some big payouts from standard play, with a top payout of 1,000x for 40 Lucky 7s in one.
The other important symbol in the game is the ‘W’ which is the Wild and subs for all others to create clusters. There are also some important variations on the Wild which we will come to in a minute.
NOTE:Like all grid slots, Bombuster is a Cluster Pays game. That means after any winning drop, the winning symbols are removed from the grid and new ones drop in to replace them. When this happens new clusters may form and the process may repeat. The cycle continues until no more wins are formed.

So Bombuster is not the high variance roller coaster ride that some of Red Tiger’s slots have been in recent years. GAMEPLAY AND FEATURES
Aside from the Cluster Pays format, Bombuster is all about Wilds and Bombs. The latter are special symbols with additional features that are released after a set number of drops. Until they are released the bombs remain static on the grid regardless of the events around them. Bombs come with arrows attached to them. When the time comes for them to explode, they clear a path of symbols in the direction of the arrows to the edge of the grid. Then new symbols drop into the empty spaces.
Destroy Bombs – A standard bomb that will remain on the grid for up to 3 drops.
Swap Bombs– Sits in place for up to 50 drops until it explodes. When it does it leaves a trail of identical symbols along the path of the explosion.
Wild Bombs – Rarer that the others, the Wild Bombs sit in place for up to 200 drops until they explode. They leave a trail of Wilds along the path of the explosion. Concurrent explosions cannot displace the wilds.
OUR VERDICT
Bombuster is a pretty decent slot for those who like their gameplay slow and steady. It doesn’t have the high variance thrills and spills of other grid slots we’ve seen in 2020, but it is fun nonetheless. On a rare occasion it may also deliver a pretty exciting sequence of wins when you combine consecutive winning cascades along with wild and swap bomb blasts. It’s not Red Tiger’s best to date but it’s still worth a spin or two.
