Battle Royal

A highly volatile tudor-romp of a slot invoking Henry VIII and his six wives. They are all in danger of losing their heads and turning into wilds as guillotines fall in the free spins round, and Henry gets stuck in a dungeon from which he must escape in the Pick Me Bonus with lots of cash prizes and multipliers to play for. Also look out for Royal Flush random bonuses that boost wins in the base game. Great fun, and a 5,000x top payout potential.

Battle Royal is an exciting, interactive slot available from 20p to £100 per spin.

Where Can I Play Battle Royal Slot?

ALL ABOUT BATTLE ROYAL SLOT

Play n Go have knocked out quite a few high variance slots in 2018 – from Gold King and Planet Fortune to the recent Banana Rock. They tend to be a big of a mixed bag, some good, some not so good depending on your taste. Fortunately, this one, with its interactive elements, is one of the better releases.

Like all good high variance slots, the best action comes in the free spins round where up to FIVE be-headed ghostly wilds will bring you big wins, and your choices at various points in the gameplay decide on how much, and what you win. Read on to find out more.

Game Set Up, Symbols and Paytables

In many ways this is a classic Play n Go slot – 5 reels, 4 rows and 20 fixed paylines, high variance and 96.56% RTP. Graphically it’s smart enough, with a tudor hall backdrop and illustrations of heavy drapes with lions woven into them to the side of the reels.

Battle Royal Slot RTP

The low value symbols in the game are the card suits – clubs, spades, diamonds and hearts. The premium symbols are Henry’s six wives, with the highest paying – possibly Catherine Parr, the only one to survive her marriage to the king – offering 30x for five on a payline. Henry VIII himself is the wild, substituting for all others bar the scatters and also worth 30x for five in a row.

The six wives also transform into ghostly be-headed wilds in the free spins round where it is possible to have five on the reels at one time.

Battle Royal Slot Features

There are three features to look out for in Battle Royal. They work like this:

Random Royal Flush – This one comes randomly in the base game and when it triggers ALL the low value symbols will transform into ONE premium symbol to enhance your chances of big wins.

There is a Coat of Arms scatter that you need to land on reels 1 and 5 at the same time to trigger one of these main features. When the scatters land you must pick one to reveal which feature you get.

The two features work as follows:

Free Spins Feature – At the start of this feature you must choose which of Henry’s wives you believe will survive the round – five are going to be be-headed for sure. That, we know. If your chosen wife survives, then you will instantly win a cash prizes.

Here’s how it works:

During the free spins the wives can be be-headed. After each spin finish a guillotine drops on ONE of the reels. If one of Henry’s wives is visible in full on that reel, or from the waist up, then they are be-headed and turn into a ghostly green wild. If they are only partially visible on the top reel – i.e. their head is not shown – then they are not be-headed and the next spin ensues without drama!

The free spins continue until only one wife is left – if it’s your chosen one then you win a prize.

Next, you must choose a reel for the final spin.

That will be the guillotine reel, and if the remaining wife lands on that reel, she is be-headed at the end of the spin, triggering the Long Live The King Bonus feature. If she survives by landing on another reel, then you return to the base game.

Long Live The King Feature – Here, Henry is locked in a haunted dungeon with all his ghost wives. You must help him collect loot from prize chests and escape before one of the ghosts gets to him.

In each chest is a prize, OR the key to exit the dungeon. After each pick a ghost moves across the screen. Should Henry be standing in the way then the round ends and you return to the base game with your winnings so far from the feature.

When you collect the key you have the choice of leaving, with a MYSTERY MULTIPLIER applying to all your wins so far OR continuing to open chests to win more prizes.

NOTE: If you arrived in the Long Live The King feature via the free spins round then your multiplier is applied to all the wins from the free spins AND the pick me round.

The Slot Buzz Verdict

Battle Royal is a fun slot with plenty to enjoy in the free spins round. The interactive elements involved – choosing a wife who may survive the guillotine reels and earn you a prize, and choosing a guillotine reel for the final free spin – give an added element of suspense to features that can drive some decent wins. We also like the FIVE ghost wilds that you get with your free spins, as well as the option to risk escaping the dungeon OR continue to win more prizes in the Pick Me round. Great fun, but high volatility so unlocking these features may prove tough!

Historical drama also unfolds in one of NetEnt’s newest slots, Vikings, based on the HBO TV series!
