ALL ABOUT THE SLOT WOLF HUNTERS
With its high-end slot game, Vikings Go To Hell, Yggdrasil Gaming went dark this year, and it appears they’ve got more to give as they take us to another terrible area with this new title. The Hunter and the Huntress, two werewolf slayers, seek to hunt down and kill some deadly prey in Wolf Hunters.
Fans of the Vikings slot will note some similarities between the two games: there are wilds, sticky wilds, re-spins, and free spins to collect, as well as Rage Points. Each hunter has their own total, and reaching 100 for either of them activates the free spins round.
The production levels are strong, the visuals are sleek, and the gameplay is tight and entertaining, as they usually are with Yggdrasil. The volatility may be minimal for some, but the highest payout of 3,000x or more is realistic. Let’s learn more…
Setup for the Wolf Hunters Game
Wolf Hunters is a 20-payline slot with five reels and three rows. The reel set is located on the front of a gothic castle with beautiful patterns, a moonlight sky in the background, and a strange gargoyle protecting the top. The two hunters are on opposite sides of the reels, and their wrath meters are visible beneath them.
Game Symbols for Wolf Hunters
In the game, there are eight fundamental symbols: card suits, spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts are the low-value ones.
There are also four premium symbols, three wolf-catching weapons, one of which is a vicious-looking trap, and the werewolf himself. The latter is the most lucrative, earning 25 times for five on a payline. It also initiates a struggle with one of the hunters, which has the potential to convert the situation into a wild.
Keep an eye out for the standard Wilds, which can replace any other symbol and cause re-spins.
Wolf Hunters Features
Re-Spins, Wolfs, and Wilds
A conflict between a hunter and the wolf will be triggered any time a Werewolf symbol appears anywhere on the reels. When the hunter wins, the wolf reverts to a wild state, resulting in a re-spin. The wolf’s overall life drops by one as well. When its life total reaches zero, the free spins are activated.
At the same time, a successful attack on a werewolf will add 1 to the hunter’s total Rage Points. When your Rage Points reach 100, the free spins round begins.
Landing a wild in the conventional method is another option to start a re-spin. During the re-spin, Wilds are usually sticky.
Free Spins Mode in Wolf Hunters
In the game, there are three free spins options. Werewolf hunters are granted more opportunities to kill the wolves throughout each one. If the first hunter fails to strike after landing, the second hunter comes in to attempt again.
Wilderness Expansion and Hunter Upgrades
You may improve either hunter by collecting Hunter or Huntress Free Spins icons throughout any free spins session. When the werewolf is slain, it transforms into a wild and expands above or across the screen, giving you more free spins.
Scatter Free Spins – this is the standard free spins round, which is activated when two free spins symbols appear in the base game. Activates 10 free spins.
When each hunter accumulates 100 Rage Points, 7 Rage Free Spins are granted. For the duration of the bonus round, the hunter will also be enhanced.
Slayer Free Spins – Reducing the werewolf life score to 0 awards 10 Slayer Free Spins. All werewolf symbols become wilds during this extra round.
THE VERDICT OF THE SLOT BUZZ
Yggdrasil’s Wolf Hunters is an interesting game with a lot of action and features. These folks added some innovative ideas to gamify the slot to some extent with Vikings Go To Hell earlier this year. And they’ve been going in the same direction here. It’s wonderful that you get extra free spins for hanging around and growing your hunter fury points or diminishing the werewolf life points. The game seems excellent, and it’s definitely worth a try with a medium-high volatility and a top payout of almost 3,000x.
