GAME SET-UP, SYMBOLS AND GRAPHICS
The vampire slot’s world is always the same — a moonlight black and purple sky studded with clouds and fluttering bats. A faraway castle is bordered by gnarly forests, with your 4×3 reel situated in front of it, with 99 paylines active at all times. The card suits, spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts, are low-value symbols. There are two boys and two ladies among the vampires who make up the premium symbols. One of the males, the slicker of the two with the scorching gold eyes, pays the most for five of a kind at 40x. The characters have a Twilight series feel to them, as will fans of the film franchise.
Look out for the Wild, which substitutes for all other symbols to form paylines and pays out 40 times for five on a line, as well as the scatters that activate the free spins round.

The Boosted Re-Spins are triggered when you land a Candle symbol on the fifth reel. For a re-spin, every occurrence of one symbol will be retained in place. Any bonus symbols are also locked, increasing your chances of activating a different feature.
Boosted Stacks
This feature appears at random and increases your chances of winning by adding stacks of symbols to the paytable.
Symbol Upgrades and Free Spins
To start the free spins round, you’ll need to land three scatters. You may win up to 15 free spins depending on where the scatters fall — the scatters create a rectangle inside which each symbol contributes another spin to your total.
A symbol upgrading function is available throughout the free spins round. A metre is located at the top of each of the middle reels, one for each of the three lowest-paying vampires. When a sign representing one of the vampires lands, the metre is increased by one point. When the vampire metre is full, all occurrences of the vampire on the reels change to the highest paying vampire, and one extra free spin is added. This is similar to the technique of Thunderkick’s Pink Elephants 2, and it can help you earn more money in the bonus round by transforming all of the vampires into the highest-valued ones.
Furthermore, scoring three additional scatters might re-trigger the free spins round.

Blood Lust is a fun game by ELK Studios featuring an intriguing bonus round and a suspenseful symbol upgrading function. The visuals and playability are excellent, as they are in all ELK Studios games, and we loved this slot in practically every way. Our only criticism is the 2,500x top prize, which we’ll leave up to you to determine whether or not it’s worth playing.
